Known in Thai as Phra Phrom (พระพรหม), the Four-Faced Brahma is often called the Four-Faced Buddha by Chinese devotees and is one of the best-known deities in Thailand. This is the head version of the design: Brahma wears a pointed crown, set within a flame-shaped frame, with spire yants above and sacred script below.
His four faces look to the east, south, west and north and represent the four states of mind of loving-kindness, compassion, joy and equanimity, signifying that prayers from every direction are answered. In Thai belief each face has its own domain, commonly understood as career, love and relationships, wealth, and health and safety.
In traditional belief this yant signifies making good connections and gaining the support of helpful people, being looked after along your career path while also being protected. The Four-Faced Brahma is one of the three great deities, and anyone who receives a yant of the three great deities must keep a kind heart.
